The WeBloom Wave Fellowship, supported by The Federal Office for Gender Equality, is hosting its graduation at Google Switzerland this September.
Through The Wave Fellowship, WeBloom is shaping the future of tech by providing 30 female students in Switzerland the opportunity to be the bridge in the innovation gender-gap. The fellowship’s official graduation ceremony will be hosted at Google Switzerland in Zurich this September, bringing together WeBloom’s network of partners and supporters to engage in a dialogue on the future of tech and inclusion.
A vast amount of data suggests that a significant drop in the percentage of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) classes happens during the transition from university to the workforce, when it drops 15% (Mckinsey, 2023). The Wave fellowship targets this root cause of gender disparity in tech roles, by working as the entry door for female students to technology innovation.
WeBloom and Women in Tech Switzerland officially launched The Wave Fellowship on May 11 2023. This 8-week fellowship, sponsored by the Federal Office for Gender Equality, gives the opportunity to 30 female students to work closely with technology companies such as Google, Logitech, Beekeeper, Emerald Technology Ventures, Redalpine Partners, Wingman Ventures, S2S Ventures and Lightbird Ventures. The 30 fellows gain access to deep foundational learning and on-site excursions to enable a full immersion into the world of tech innovation.
The Wave Fellowship Graduation will take place on September 1, 2023 at Google Switzerland. At the Graduation, the hosts and fellows will share the highlights and outcome of the program. There will also be keynote addresses from Delphine Donne, VP and General Manager at Logitech and Lucia Terrenghi, Director of UX YouTube.
